For Kirkland, fighting Canelo is tantamount to Khan getting a Mayweather fight. It's the one he has always wanted. I expect him to show up ready and rarin' to go. There will be fireworks.

I am not ruling out Kirkland but I think he will ultimately take too much leather. Really looking forward to that one.

Kirkland should come out at the end looking good, because I think he will be seen as fighting valiantly.

We shouldn't undersell Kirkland here, he is dangerous and is Canelo really going to outbox him? He has slow cement feet which will make it hard for him to avoid Kirkland's constant pressure. Either Canelo blasts him early or Kirkland will wear him down late.

Kirkland is dangerous if he is the kirkland of old and can get past the first few rounds.. He could give canelo hell down the stretch if canelo drops his workrate and james finds his rythmn ..

Kirkland is the perfect type fighter for network TV..

This fight should look a lot like the canelo-angulo fight, but if Kirkland is competitive, canelo better hope it's a stellar fight like vargas-tito, cotto-margarito, jmm-manny 5, ruslan-Bradley, to save face

Kirkland takes a while to warm up and might get caught early. By the time he warms up he might take too much punishment. If he makes it to the 8th round and is active Canelo will be in trouble because he fights at a certain pace

the thing with the Japanese fighter was he was a very light hitting guy and destroyed Kirkland. people made a big deal because of kirklands chin

They both win by basically making opponents bytch out

I agree Kirkland is good for TV, De La Hoya shouldve put this one on network TV. I think Kirklands inactivity will be his biggest downfall, people want to talk about his chin but even aganist Ishida he was getting up, thats a testament to his heart. Since Ann Wolfe isnt in his corner he should hire her to lay into his chin prefight to loosen it up. I wouldnt want to be hit dead on by that woman... hahaha

When this fight was made, Kirkland weighed over 200 pounds. Draining down to 155 in a matter of a few months will certainly have taken a lot out of him. I see no way in hell that he can get a win and it would be extremely good for him to go the distance. I think Canelo absolutely needs to dominate him in every part of the fight to give a good impression. I'm expecting an early stoppage, inside the first 6 rounds.

Canelo's best chance to stop him should be the early rounds. If Kirkland survives the early rounds then we have a fight. I can see Kirkland wear down Canelo in the second half of the fight.

I've always said that Kirkland has the style and power to cause one big upset at some point if he was giving the chance to fight more top fighters. Is this his chance?

I just think Kirkland is going to take too many shots in this fight and it might be a long night and frustrating for him if he lasts.
