All about the HEAVYWEIGHTS! Fans want to see Heavyweights especially Americans so no I'm not surprised. Wilder vs Stiverne did good as well. Hell Arreolla vs Stiverne did well on ESPN2 also

It was an American Heavyweight fighting the best Heavyweight Boxer in the world yeah people tuned in. They probably was disappointed that the fight was more action pack but fans STILL LOVE HEAVYWEIGHTS!

Kathy Duva aired fights on NBC with a fraction of the cost and got 3.2mil rating.

“I did a show on NBC two, three years ago. I had a $150,000 rights fee. I had to live in that,” she said. “At the peak of my show, I had 3.2 (million watching), they had 4.2. He went out and spent $8 million on marketing, production, the time buy and only got a million more people to watch than I did. My marketing budget on that show was $5,000.” - Kath Duva

The ratings would be fine if the costs were lower. But instead the costs are so high for these PBC shows with tv ratings that aren't high enough to overcome it and bring in sponsors to pay for it.

Can I see a complete list of all the costs and earnings of PBC? I'd also like your complete list of all the purses for each event that you clearly have, otherwise your whole point falls apart.

This fight was marketed everywhere, more than any regular HBO fight in recent memory.

Great ratings. people said PBC would hurt HBO but that's not the case. Since PBC HBO has been killing the ratings. The real ones hurt by haymons power move is Showtime. HBO cut ties with Haymon years earlier so him taking his fighters to network TV has no impact. But showtime let Haymon ruin their rep and brand last year with terrible mismatches just to keep Haymon happy and still he stabbed them in the back taking all their fighters off showtime. Showtime has no boxing fights scheduled this year outside Mayweather and the fight with Chavez was a disaster with horrible ratings. HBO remains the king of boxing. Showtime boxing is on life support.
