Comments Thread For: Hatton Feels Khan Has Better Chance To Beat Mayweather

Former champion Ricky Hatton is giving his countryman, Amir Khan, a better chance than Manny Pacquiao to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao will collide with Mayweather this coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with the WBC/WBO/WBA welterweight titles at stake.

Hatton faced both boxers during his career. He was handed his first career loss against Mayweather, when the Manchester fighter moved up to 147-pounds and was stopped in the tenth round. Two years later he suffered a brutal two round knockout at the hands of Pacquiao.

i actually would agree. this pac fight will no be as close as people think. khan would get destroyed but at least he matches the boxing ability with his speed and can at least catch may weather. i don't think pac has that ability. thinking about it, khan was working pac in sparring some time ago, huh?

In full agreement. I could be wrong i just never have seen pacquaio as a big threat stylistically. I actually think floyd wins comfortably.

It's difficult not to like Ricky but I can not agree with him on this ,does Ricky forget just how chinny this Khan is or featherfisted Alexander aside , just how bad he's looked in his 'comeback' from the Danny 'the ordinary one' Garcia knock out ?
This is foolish talk from him on this massive week/month of boxing and it seems almost comical that the man he's talking about iced him in two completely one sided rounds and has the ability to do that to anyone around this weight class.
Ricky get off this Amir Khan speed thing the only time I see that is when he's running from a world title fight with Kell Brook for £5 million and then say's Algeria (or what ever !) will get him closer to pac or Floyd , the Khan's are a JOKE and Ricky with these kind of comments .........!

Hatton is always kissing Amir's ass, I don't get it. Hatton was a self-styled 'man of the people' while Khan is an arrogant pr!ck who refers to himself in the third person in every damn interview. Is Khan bankrolling Hatton's promotional outfit or something?

do some of you really understand " styles make fights" ? where and which fights have shown you that boxing with Floyd or outside fighting is a nightmare for Floyd?...if anything it is the complete opposite from Chavez to jlc to maidana shows you that..then theres the struggle vs southpaws...

amir is fast with his hands and feet but he is very predictable, easily timed...Floyd feasts on those weaknesses

completely agree, especially with the easily timed part

khan's a good fighter, and extremely talented, don't get me wrong...but Floyd would time him to death

I even think Floyd would have a really good shot at getting his first stoppage (legit stoppage) since 07' if he was to ever face Khan.
