Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Focused on Workrate, Not a KO of Mayweather

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is focused on a high workrate to gain points, round by round, against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather will stake his WBC/WBA welterweight titles in the massive pay-per-view showdown.

Both sides are predicting a knockout victory, including Pacquiao's own trainer Freddie Roach, who says Mayweather's legs are now old and he won't be able to avoid the punches.

Good, that should be the plan Manny.

Floyd lands 1, you land 2.

Great analysis be Trainer of The Year Freddy Roach.

people just want to hate, but he has the credentials, learned from one of Greatest to ever teach.

I agree with Pacquaio: You gotta win rounds on points. A knockout is a long shot. Outwork Floyd......somehow. (Good luck with that. Floyd is going to be so damn hard to catch.)

I disagree with Roach if he is seriously counting on Floyd having "shot" legs.

Floyd is good. He can beat Pacquaio if even if his legs ARE shot. He's got the length and the reach. He's got the reflexes and boxing excellence.

Roach and Pac are probably setting Floyd up too.

That's exactly what he should be focused on.

If May is so damn hard to catch, how in the hell a slow plodder like Maidana able to hit him more than any other fighters May ever fought?

You might say "but Manny don't know how to cut the ring off" my answer to that is, 2 months of training is more than enough to train for that particular kink.

Don't be surprise when you see May on his back for the "first" time. And he will be busted up like he never has before. WAR MAYWEATHERSEXECUTIONER!!!!

Sounds like a realistic expectation to me. I don't see either guy knocking each other out.
