Its not his only defense, but it sets up most of his offense, Floyds whole game his whole career has always been, jab to the body, jab to the body. Wait behind the shoulder, and counter off the roll.

Otherwise he is just off the front foot looking to pull counter and jump in with right hand leads.

I think he will win the fight, because Pacquiao is a shell of what he was in his prime, while Floyd still hasn't faded much.

But Tactically, Pacquiao would have been a nightmare for him a few years ago while he still had legs to close distance and create angles.

This is what I've been saying. Floyd has to beat southpaws to the punch everytime with his lead right because he can't counter off well using the high guard. He cant sit back roll a right hand then come back with a uppercut or straight right like what he did all night to canelo and marquez.

He is so dependent on that right hand lead against southpaws. In the guerrero fight he basically just spammed that punch because he is so limited offensively. His jab to the body, his leaping left hook and pull counter is not really very efficient because of the angles. Against pac if that's all he has he is in trouble. I got Pac by decision. Unanimous. Pac outhustles him for 12 rounds.

As you have mentioned his shoulder roll starts his offense, But knowing his fighting a southpaw that can easily target his head on a shoulder roll stance. He becomes a different Foyd mayweather. a floyd mayweather who can't rely on his bread and butter.

Truth hurts.. without his shoulder roll, he isn't the complete Floyd Mayweather we are accustom to see, His shoulder roll is a defensive stance and an offensive starter to Floyd. Without it he becomes a not so great fighter..

Pac will capitalize on that set back. Floyd being on a high guard will play in Pac's strengths. Toe to toe fighting is Pac's forte, add the inn and out movement of Pac, Floyd won't know what hit him.

Floyd is a defensive genius and most of his moves comes from his shoulder roll. Now, without it.. He just turns into a not so great fighter.. Pac will surely be in an advantage vs a Floyd in an offensive high guard stance, May 2 Pac will show the world what I meant.

Never said that was Floyd's only arsenal. I'm just mainly stating that he can't use one of his effective skills going into a big fight which is his bread and butter shoulder roll. That's all it means.

We all know his shoulder roll is one of his main weapons of choice. Now he has to use other means in his deck of skills to win the fight. That said without his shoulder roll he ain't the complete floyd mayweather going into the fight. Advantage Pacquiao.

Without it he's not 100% maybe 70% without his shoulder roll.
You act as if Floyd never fought a southpaw. You can't be this ******.

Floyd hasn't even looked impressive or dominant against guys like maidana and Guerrero. PAC is going to beat the **** out of him. He's fought the same kind of guys for a reason.

Its unfair to say he becomes a not so great fighter. Im a very large critic of Floyd, and have him ranked behind Rigondeaux p4p, but he has other tools. You dont get where he is at by only having one wrench in your tool kit.

Pacquiao doesn't have the mobility to work around you and punch from all angles anymore. He has lost what made him Pacquiao, now he is just a southpaw with speed and some power.

Honestly, Pacquiao shouldn't legitimately be rated top 10 p4p with where he is at in his career and skills wise. Im actually worried that the fight will be a one sided blow out where Pacquiao isn't even competitive. We haven't seen him against any top talent in quite a few years.

When Floyd was the super featherweight champ HBO was pushing for a unification with Joel Casamayor. Floyd refused. At the time I wondered he didn't want to fight Casamayor who should have been an easy fight. I looked at his record to see what southpaws he faced and in all his fights he had only fought one. Chavez who was 0-7. The Mayweather family has made it no secret that southpaws are not desired.
