Comments Thread For: Mayweather Sr: Floyd Not The Same, But Beats All at 147

Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and head trainer of WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., admits his son is not the same fighter from several years ago. But, he still believes his son is capable of beating every single opponent in the welterweight division.

This coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather takes part in the biggest fight of his career when he faces WBO champion Manny Pacquiao. The fight has been hyped for the last six years and everyone expects the pay-per-view bout to break every possible financial record.

Yeah. The thing is, Both have lost a step, there's no doubt. But who does it affect more?
Would've been great if they fought in 09 or 10 and this is number 2 or 3. But, better late than never

5 yrs ago, pac stop Algieri, no doubt. And 5 yrs ago Mayweather doesn't lose a round to Maidana. They're both still great fightets, but, not the same. An argument can be made that pac doesn't throw the same5-6 punch combos like he did vs de la hoya and Cotto and Clottey. Those combos wore u down and scored pts with judges.
But floyd cant move like he used to, and I think has lost more speed than pac. We'll see!

                    Smh.......

I've also been saying this for a while. Floyd is not 28 years old anymore. His fans and the so called experts keep forgetting this. His own Father just admitted it. Floyd at 30-34, doesn't lose a round to Maidana. Manny is not the same either BUT he's fresher than Floyd, believe it or not. His last three fights prove it. He hasn't taken any punishment, at all. The year he took off did wonders for him. Floyd is going to get a beating.
