pretty much 8 kids with boxing dreams . damn.
Only 2 stayed in Manila after Eugene's death, Pacquaio and Cordero. Cordero was a far more refined boxer than young Pacquiao. He became a bantamweight champion too, interim or something like that.

but these are two whole different definitions of "poor". not having warm water is nothing compared with the fear of extremists cutting your head off for not being ****** in addition to not having something to eat.

i'm sure people like manny would have given anything to be "American" kind of poor.
A homeless person in NYC who can amass $5/day begging in the streets/subway, and have plenty of homeless shelter to spend the evening in, is far greater than a homeless person in a third-world country, who has to dig through garbage to find a half-eaten anything, minutes before spoilage, and uses discarded boxes for comfort in a rough environment.

I didn't see it but I heard this was really good. Anyone who saw this, did any of the hookers get interviewed for this piece?

This is something most posters here living in 1st world countries will never understand unless they experience it themselves.

Thanks for the info. Researched a bit more...Abner Cordero, Pac, and Eugene Barutag were the best prospects out of all the kids from Gen. Santos.

The kids looked out for each other... And from what I read, they actually pooled their money together to help Pacquiao pay for the $50 fare to Manila.
