i always thought juan diaz was a bigger poor man's jesus chavez.Chavez very underrated.
A lot of people haven't seen his fight with Erik Morales. He had Morales badly hurt in that fight, and if he had two arms in that fight I believe he'd have won. It was close even when he had one arm for most of the fight.
And that was before even the first Morales-Pacquaio fight.
how did you rank chavez at the time at 130?
i'm not allowed to use ring's rankings, so i'll use yours.

You can go back and read what you said.
Anyway, I hear ya. If I were in your shoes and said the Ring was the standard for rankings and then someone pointed out they rate Floyd higher, I'd forget the standard part too.Comment

I think Chavez was much better than Juan Diaz. He's better in every area.
It was Floyd's last fight at 130 and he was struggling to make the weight but Chavez gave Floyd hell, a much tougher fight that Corrales obviously. I think Corrales would have destroyed Chavez though.
I would have had Chavez top 5 at 130 for sure. I think The Ring had him at #3
Interesting fact; According to The Ring Magazine, Floyd has beaten 9 fighters ranked #1 in the division being fought in (Hernandez, Corrales, Castillo x2, Gatti, Baldomir, Mosley, Canelo, Cotto) Manny Pacquaio will be his 10th, if he wins.Comment

Kinda in order
1 genaro
2 Corrales
3 castillo
4 cotto
5 Oscar
6 Hatton
7 marquez
8 shane
9 canelo
10 Maidana
All these were wins over legit hall of fame caliber guys for the most part and all were champs when floyd beat themComment

The rankings matter little to me without context. You went by rankings, remember? Except when it doesn't suit you
Anyway, handing someone their second straight decisive loss is not that impressive. Decent win, nothing more.Comment
