  • Comments Thread For: Jennings: I Felt Like I Won, I Felt Klitschko Fading

You can forgive Bryant Jennings for still being in the moment when he says that he felt like he won the fight against Wladimir Klitschko this past Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Klitschko took the unanimous decision by a safe margin.

“I believe that I won, especially from the way that I feel. I did what I was supposed to do. Didn’t get caught with any flush shots. I did better than a lot of people. Even though I thought I won. I’m not just satisfied with saying I did good,” Jennings said afterward. “It proved that I have what it takes. I really think I won the fight, if not closer scorecards. But I’m not bitter. I’m not upset. I’m good.”

Wlad faded so much that he dominated the 12th and final round. If Wlad started fighting like in did in the last round a few rounds earlier I believe he would have stopped Jennings.

      Closer on the scorecards? Maybe.

      Won the fight?

      Dude.

You got your ass beat! You won 3 rounds on my score card. 4 max! Plus I'll give you the 10-8 round. And you would have still LOST by a point or 2. These boxers are by far, most delusional athletes.

Jennings wishes he had 15 rounds with Wlad.

This was one of those fights where one man won almost every round, but never actually dominated any of them, and didn't hurt his opponent badly at any point.

What you get at the end of a fight like that, if the judges do their job properly, is a wide points margin for the winner and a p1ssed off loser who feels he's been in a close fight and expects the scorecards to reflect that.

Jennings didn't get schooled, and he pushed Wlad hard all the way, so I can understand him being disappointed with the score at the end. But he didn't win the fight, that's for sure.
