Comments Thread For: Golovkin Still Open to Mayweather, Froch and Ward

Gennady Golovkin’s time as a middleweight titleholder has seen him ascending at 160 while his team has also thrown out names at 154 and 168 that he would be willing to face. Such a move hasn’t happened yet, and Golovkin has been aiming for the other titleholders at middleweight.

Still, Golovkin’s trainer feels that there are at least a couple of names who would merit an immediate jump up or move down.

“For Gennady, his dream match is [Floyd] Mayweather,” said trainer Abel Sanchez. If “Mayweather gets through unscathed on the 2nd [of May against Manny Pacquiao at welterweight] and he decides to move up, Gennady is willing to come down to ’54 and meet him.” [Click Here To Read More]

Floyd too small and FRoch damn near retired although a prime Froch is the only guy in the 168 division to have the balls to fight GGG.

Ward will fight GGG next year.

"TBE" claims he the greatest. He's the 154lb champ and GGG will fight him at that weight. GGG only fighting at 160 because no would fight him 154. SRR, SRL, Hearns and Duran all moved up and **** with the best.

This is what I want to hear from team GGG.theyll move up for the competitive fights, as their clearly isnt one below 168.

Great news, glad it is in their thoughts. No way Froch fights him, he's on vacation.

              LOL he wants Mayweather

Mayweather is too freaking small, people who want to see that fight
just want to see Mayweather lose at all costs

It doesnt matter IF GGG could make 154, hes too damn big

His career defining fight is Andre Ward, and hes not in a rush to fight him

GGG is the best middleweight right now, he is the favorite vs. 160 and below (Cotto, Canelo, Floyd included). Froch & Ward are big enough where he can't simply impose his will on them, I'd favor both. That being said, "So far Andre hasn't really brought the same amount of money that Gennady brings right now", kind of sounds like the argument other fighters use against GGG?
