i wish max would just act like his max k personality when he was with fox sports.

he made a mistake trying to be LIKE larry merchant. it comes off stiff and forced. nobody can be like larry merchant. dude was an original classic curmudgeon c*nty badass.

a classic boxing personality that is sadly needed today.

wlad's a cheater. no commentator should respect him. the only questions they should be asking is why do you keep cheating? then go to a graphic of the rules of boxing. in fact they should go to that graphic before the fight, and in between every round. oh wait that would be biased though right? pointing out cheating is biased but ignoring it is just good journalism.

really? he just clinched 100 times against jennings. you don't think 100 fouls is dq worthy? he clinched 45 times against pulev in 4 and a half rounds. seems to me that he clinches a lot in almost every fight. its just his style to cheat. the saddest part is that fans have become conditioned to it and now accept it. fans don't even realize what's happening right in front of their eyes. the cheating has become normal to them.

rightttt and that's why he was penalized for holding? although it was many rounds too late. i think you are trying to play a semantics game in order to defend wlad's cheating which is quite sad. you can clearly see he's clamping his arms so he can't throw punches. then he leans on his opponents once he gets them clamped which makes it doubly worse because they can't get away from a 250 pound man leaning on them. this obviously drains them and its why wlad scores late ko's and only takes risks late in fights. the first half of the fight he's just wearing them down with cheating tactics. once they are dead enough then its safe enough for wlad to start throwing real punches without worrying about getting ko'd in return.

he's not a clincher! it was just that one fight! this is just good old fashioned leaning.

also notice the time stamps in the rounds. 2:44 in round 1 and he's already a giant flailing octopus which means its clear his strategy is to grab hold and cheat. he can't box but he can octobox!

wlads ko ratio being maong the highest in heavyweight history kind of offsets his clinching

the povetkin fight was atrocious but its dishonest to act like that was representative of the rest of his career
