    Hes absolutely right

Humans advance, its so silly to think athletes now arent genetic freaks compared to the older generations. Heck theres a huge difference from the 90s to now

People are just sheep. No one seen Sugar Ray Robinson in his prime. Boxing is MUCH different than it was back in the days. Every sport is like this, just because they paved the way, and did it first, athletes from the old eras are always percieved as the greatest, as good as it got, no one is better

    Really?

So in EVERY sport, we've.... just been going backwards? The sport hasnt advanced? We're still going to say the best hitter was the guy hitting off the pitcher whos throwing underhand 85MPH fastballs, or Wilt Chamberlain playing in a league were everyone is 2 feet shorter than he is?

    No..

Boxing completely changed in the late 80s.

Foreman is just saying what ALOT of people logically know deep down, not about Mayweather being better than Ali, the bigger picture, athletes today are just stronger, smarter and better conditioned and its not a knock, or trash talk... We're advanced.

The thing about this is, lots of boxers are better than Ali in the eye test department. But at the end of the day what matters is who you beat, not how good you look or some notion of being more skilled. Only thing that matters is who you beat, everything else is just heresy. The fact is that Ali, and many other fighters, are much greater than Mayweather. With regards to athletes today being far superior, don't be so sure. Boxing is one of the few sports where training is still based to some extent on superstition and bull**** tradition, only now is it becoming more scientific. The bottom line is the skills pay bills. James Toney proved that by being a fat heavyweight who did nothing but sparring but still being a top fighter.

People are speaking on two completely different topics, and mixing them up do some of you understand this?

Topic #1: Is Mayweather better, as in his style and fighting ability. (You can list many fighters over Ali when it comes to this)

Topic #2: Is Mayweather greater, as in resume, fighting ability, etc... everything that makes a boxer.

Shot fat fighters from the 1980s beat guys in the 2000s. Hopkins is 50 and one of the best light heavies in the world.

There isn't nearly the difference from the 60s or 70s to now as people like to pretend there is.

That's the problem you cant compare different time frames. Ali is greater than Floyd because he fought everyone and better fighters.
Yea that makes a lot of sense.
