Cause

1. He claims he doesn't care about the money, he just wants Kovalev and his titles
2. His off HBO numbers have been terrible
3. He'd still do better than vs Fonfara 2 or anything on PBC, not to mention future purses if he beat Kovalev

He left HBO for the simple reason that Showtime offered him significantly more money than what HBO was willing to offer; why would he go back to HBO to get stiffed on arguably the biggest fight available to him?

You can't feed a family based on numbers (though, I guess, drawing the largest rating, by far, for an afternoon boxing program in recent history doesn't mean anything); his off HBO paydays have dwarfed anything that HBO ever offered him.

I kinda doubt that. If he'd beat Kovalev last May he would be making way more money, on HBO or anywhere. He's been fighting scrubs, his last fight drew less than 6k. And Quebec is meant ti be a big local market

Kovalev is not the king. As much as he is hated and ridiculed, Stevenson won his Ring title fair and square. Let's not remove titles from boxers who have not even lost it. Main Events is in the wrong here, it's okay to say your fighter is wrong. I have no fighter here, I think Kovalev KO's Stevenson if they fight, but right now it's Duva/Main Events who should be taking the heat from fans.

This is why I said yesterday why call another purse bid? Team Kovalev does not want the fight and Duva made that clear last week. Stop wasting other people's time and stop throwing around ducking accusations, I don't even like Adonis and if they ever meet I hope Kovalev crushes his brain in but this is becoming a joke now, you can not call for a fight and accuse the other side of ducking you, then when presented with an opportunity to make the fight you come up with excuses.

If HBO can compromise to make a Mayweather fight with showtime then I don't expect a problem making lesser fights, all this is just an excuse to avoid the fight.

You're basically clueless, is all. What does May weather PAC have to do with this. That's a joint ppv. This is a non ppv fight largely financed by the Canadian proceeds. HBO is not going to purse bid against Haymon, but they'd put together an offer better than anything Stevensons got going. What's his excuse?

News flash for the Kovalev fan boys!!! Kovalev doesnt have ANY big fights left unless he works with Al Haymon. Stevenson has options. The person who is to blame is Kovalev. He should have had a better manager tell his promoter NOT to sign a multi fight deal with HBO. He couldv'e said sign with SHO and chase Stevenson that way. But no he let Kathy Ducka ruin his big payday for now. And to fight who on HBO? Lesser oppossition than Stevenson is now gonna face. Stop being fanboys and biased and call Kovalev's team out for making this fight harder to make. Not Stevenson. He aint vacating titles.

You better say plainly that the Russians must go home and stop disturbing the waters of the sport right there -- which would be understandable...
Stevenson is irrelevant right now (especially after fighting a washed up SMW in Bika, whom he failed to stop).

Kovalev will fight Mohammedi next (in front of a Russian mobsters audience), while Adonis will end up fighting the likes of Bute (who, by the way, doesn't have even a trainer).
