    Look at this patriotic kid!
He's "interested in the success of boxing" in his country...
... For that your country should produce some sort of fighters -- which is not the case as of lately.

50/50 of what amount? Is it 5 mil? In a purse bid they could get 7 or 8 mil 50/50..
It's obvious hbo and duva won't be able to match the offer Haymon puts together.. So in reality, duva wants kovolev to take less of a payday because she can't pay them as much as PBC
For one fight. Kovalev is now singing to HBO's tune. It is extremely annoying but I cannot really blame Kovalev, Duva or HBO. It is currently at an impasse because HBO won't allow it off HBO and Haymon wants to keep Stevenson on his paid networks, and to be honest I very much doubt he wants Stevenson to fight Kovalev anyway. This all looks like a big game of chicken in which Haymon has won. As is usually the case, when Haymon wins the fans lose.

      • Turds like El-puto and MDPoopy would rather this fight not happen than be showcased on NBC to 5M Americans with both fighters making the most money possible. Ken Hershman's children are a rowdy bunch.

          What are you talking about?

          Humean laid out the timeline...

When she lobbied the WBC for this i'm pretty sure it was before the announcement of PBC. She probably underestimated the sort of capital backing Haymon was going to get for his venture.
People outside of Haymon's circle didn't know what he had planned...and even those who knew some details underestimated the amounts.

The early reports/rumors were that Haymon's investors had as much as $100 million.

Recent reports suggest they have much more than that.

None of which has anythign to do with whether I understand investing, but the answer is yes.

The pimp doesn't count for Haymon -- he wasn't even able to stop a washed up SMW in Bika... Haymon got a big mechanical toy but his puppets are too lazy and too fat to act as expected and/or imagined.

              • Kathy Duckva is running away from the higher purse that Al Haymon can pay her fighter.

                What a coward.

Pure trash. A one fighter company preventing one of the best fights out there from happening. Fuck em.

Nobody on either side actually thinks that will happen

Same old ****, reminds me of Pascal's fake drug test demand, like he got cold feet and wanted out of the fight and started lobbing idle contract demands around

Hopkins is a real fighter, when Adonis ducked him he immediately signed with Kovalev, no phony stalling/demands
When Duva ran to the WBC to make Kovalev the mandatory challenger, he was heading into the last fight of the HBO deal, according to her own very words.

How Kovalev went from pending free agency to being locked into an ironclad HBO deal, before the bid could even be called, is pretty shiesty.

And Stevenson/GYM isn't even opposed to putting the fight on HBO; they merely want to open the TV rights open to bid. If HBO backs putting the fight on PPV, they win; Duva and her team run the calculations for what to expect off of PPV, bid the fighter's take on that amount, and the fight goes to HBO PPV (fighters split the bid 50/50, with the promoters working together to maximize the revenues).

If HBO isn't willing to put up the money for PPV, they can have the fight on HBO Championship boxing; Duva figures out what the rights fee HBO offers is, and bids from that, while any other broadcaster also has the opportunity to offer up what they'd be willing to pay in the rights fee, with Yvon Michel bidding off of that.

Instead of pushing for an open process, Duva wants the US rights fee locked into the $2m that HBO would likely be willing to offer. How not shopping around serves her fighter is beyond me.
