Still confused about why they would go for purse bids in the first though
Duva is HBO's puppet, she is now a yes woman so to speak. She wanted the purse bid and was willing to go wherever but HBO realized that Haymon will win any purse bid that he really wants so they are trying to pull rank. Well im sorry but HBO i canceled you and I use the app for way cheaper (9.99)... in other words HBO's day as a boxing kingpin are nearly over...

I'm guessing HBO not only don't want to lose out to the Haymon universe for the Stevenson fight but also on other fights because if Kovalev fights and defeats Stevenson then he will have a load of mandatories and most of those mandatory challengers are with Haymon and hence they will go to purse bids and Kovalev will likely be off HBO. It is a shame that the sport is so badly organized that these tv interests can prevent the best fights.

This makes no sense! I would assume that Kovalev and Adonis wants to get paid as much as possible. The purse bid is how you get it done! HBO is just scared to bid against Haymon. 1st fight not happening is on ADONIS but this would be on KOVALEV.
I see you ladies are more interested in di*k size than the fight. I don't care about the split or the network, I just want the fight. So far it's 1-1 on who looks scared to get in the ring.
Where are the real fans at? You know, the ones who don't argue over networks and purse splits. The ones who blame the actual fighters for not fighting.

Nobody on either side actually thinks that will happen

Same old ****, reminds me of Pascal's fake drug test demand, like he got cold feet and wanted out of the fight and started lobbing idle contract demands around

Hopkins is a real fighter, when Adonis ducked him he immediately signed with Kovalev, no phony stalling/demands
Hopkins had no choice, do your research. Hop would have had to take his mandatory if he didnt fight him, and at Hopkins age he cudnt afford to take that chance... dont make stuff up use facts to prove your point

Damn, I was trying to figure out why they're avoiding the purse bid again after chasing Adonis this whole time but you're stamtemebt pretty much sums it up. Sergei is all main events has

That's why Quebecers love Jean Pascal. Not this Quackenson duck.

If you just want the fight, why are you worried about the fighter's money?

The way the fight gets made at this point in time is Team Stevenson coming to terms with Main Events to put it on HBO, it's clear from the information provided that it's not happening any other way.

They just signed a new contract apparently so I'd assume its at least 3 fights & probably more.

That will be interesting for sure, even without beating Stevenson he should end up with a couple of Haymon mandatories, notably with the Beterbiev fight.
