How do we know they are more powerful punchers? Because they outweigh him by a couple of cheeseburgers?

Mosley offered nothing to Pacquiao in terms of power. Cotto had his moments but only when Pacquiao was leaning on the ropes showing off to everybody that he could withstand Cotto's punches in the 4th round.

    Here are the facts.

Juan Manuel Marquez has demonstrated on video, in actual live broadcasts greater power at welter weight than anything Mosley, Cotto, Pacquiao and Mayweather have shown us.

And forget about KO6. That looping right hand he dropped Pacquiao with in round 3 was just as powerful, if not more powerful, than anything the guys mentioned above have hit someone with too.

And, if it's such a ****** offer, then take me up on it.

Mayweather is the superior counter puncher, the bigger guy, has the better timing, the legendary accuracy and straight A student compubox stats... he's basically the technical superior to Marquez in every way. Using that logic, he should be able to eclipse Marquez even in the power department. So take me up on my ban bet.

Floyd will not hit Pacquiao with anything as hard as Marquez did in both rounds 3 and 6 because Marquez is the more powerful puncher.

    Deal?

    • If you look at Pacquiao's fights post Marquez 4 you see him walking into more and more head snapping punches. Mayweather hit Alvarez and Maidana with a lot of head snapping punches. I expect him to do the same against Pacquiao.

It doesn't matter if he hits harder than Marquez. All he has to do is keep the right distance and disrupt Pacquiao's attacks.

As a result he never puts anything in his punches, he never puts his weight on them, or sits down on them because that will require him to plant his feet and risk getting caught with incoming fire.

Marquez will plant his feet and throw with conviction. Big difference, but I guess people who've never boxed wouldn't understand this,
There's the truth. Most of the idiots on this forum have never boxed. I have, with 70 fights, and can say you've hit the nail on the head.

Mayweather knows Pacquiao will be attacking non-stop, so how can you counter a Pacquiao blitz? You stop it there and then with a KO. That is why Floyd is concentrating this trainning camp on power. IMO, a KO is Floyds plan B. No plan C here. Plan A will be to outbox a passive Pacquiao to a majority decision. Pacquiao will not be passive, he will attack. Therefore plan B will be in effect. This fight will not go the full 12 rounds.
Another testament to the fact that most people on this forum have never boxed. Power is primarily about technique - hell you don't even need to understand boxing to know this a rudimentary understanding of physics will suffice. Mayweather knows how to punch. The reason he doesn't knock people out is because he's already thinking of defensive maneuvers while he is punching so he doesn't commit fully. Also he doesn't go for finishes if he does happen to hurt opponents because he is defensive minded. You don't make yourself powerful by chopping wood. I know plenty of weak fighters who hit like mules because they punch properly and commit - it's not about hitting tyres with sledgehammers or hitting wood, although that may help from a fitness perspective and improve your power by a miniscule amount.

Nope, that was Alvarado trying to catch his balance. On top of that, Rios and Provodnikov's power discouraged Alvarado far more, Rios actually hurt Alvarado in the 1st fight, a fresher Alvarado too, more than Marquez did.

              • How come Alvarado was in the survival mode against Provodnikov, Rios but was far more willing to exchange with Marquez? Just look at this,

                • The same Alvarado fight these idiots reference is the same fight Alvarado showed more of a willingness to trade, he was taking the fight to Marquez, although unsuccessfully but nonetheless still trying. Nah but he got hit by a punch that made him go "airborne" and still decided to step to Juan, laughable how delusional people are or like I initially said, all agendas. Marquez, the monster he never was.

                  • Manny was wobbled by Bradley. Wobbled, dropped and KO'd by JMM. Floyd can hurt him if he catches him right.

Now....Freddie seems like he has a pretty reckless game plan for Manny. Throw combos without worrying about Floyd's power and then dip out to his right as always.....oh wait....that's what Manny always does.

Manny will make this fight exciting while Floyd will make it a masterpiece if he outboxes Manny like I think he will. 8 DAYS SON!!!!!!!!!
