Terribly biased article indeed. It is not Al Haymon's fault that Robert Guerrero, Jhonny Gonzalez, Josesito Lopez or John Molina (I had to laugh at this one) are not good enough to take advantage of the opportunities that were given to them. If you look at it from a different angle, Guerrero should have never shared the ring with Floyd, Josesito was offered a chance to revive his career as well, Molina did not deserve the Broner fight, and Jhonny was simply making a defense, but against a worthy challenger this time. Vasquez was robbed, but this is hardly enough to start creating conspiracy theories.
This writer sounds butthurt because some important Mexican boxers have been taking losses lately. He mentions the tough fights some of them have been in, but conveniently fails to mention all the soft opponents Mares and Santa Cruz have been fed in their last few fights. It is guys like Chavez Jr. and Santa Cruz who are hurting Mexican boxing, not Al Haymon. At the end of the day, good Mexican fighters will get the job done, the others will lose. Simple as that.
