Usyk is 6'3 and one of the best amateurs of recent time, he's a tremendous boxer and imo potentially a top 10 P4P fighter. Beating him at any level is a great feat.
That's astonishing. I checked it out and it was in 2006 at 75kgs. They were both young but given where they fight now I guess Porter is the one who was more physically mature.

Usyk is indeed the goods as far as boxing ability goes. If he has the power chin to go with it he could be great.

how log ago did they fight?

Yeah you're right, it's almost 10 years ago, it makes sense now. There were both in their teens.

'Potentially', meaning if he lives up to his potential. Limited? Are you sure we're talking about the same fighter? He's anything but limited. He's got a great variety of attack, very nice footwork, handspeed, decent power etc. You can't be one of the best amateurs in recent history if you're 'limited'...

no, he hasnt got any of those things, he is a lumbering, big guy, very much in the mold of many european fighters. nothing exciting about him whatsoever.

I suggest you actually watch him fight before offering an opinion on him...

Didnt Porter play one of the 'heavier' American Football positions in high school?

Perhaps he just grew big quick and then stopped. Could explain how he beat someone who is now much bigger than him.

Yeah he fought guys like Edwin Rodriguez, Shawn Estrada etc in the amateurs. Weighed in at 165 in his first pro fight as well, he's a massive welterweight.

Well that's crazy, in the same event Thurman fought at 69 and won.
