Kinda hard to say that anymore, especially since Kovalev's team walked out on the purse bid.

"Kovalev's promoter Main Events had made a request for their fighter to become the mandatory challenger to Stevenson. The request was approved."

Main Events got what they wanted and knew in advance that the purse bid was going to take place. Why not raise their concerns in advance, so that they can be addressed prior? Shit just doesn't make much sense.

Even though I believe this is a toss-up fight, both parties should at least put forth a serious effort to make it a reality. Walking away from the purse bid just doesn't sit well and projects a "Its my way or the highway" mentality.

I'm really getting tired of how the Networks, the Promoters and Managers are increasingly giving boxing fans the shaft.

What a f'ing hypocrite and so are his fans..it was ok for Stevenson to jump networks for more money rather than fight Kovalev when a deal had practically been agreed to but now that the shoe is on the other foot it's not OK? Oh the hypocrisy...If they do fight i'll bet the bank this guy doesn't survive to the middle rounds.

If Duva is serious about making this fight make it 60/40 split favoring Stevenson. I know Kovalev is the bigger draw but that's the only way your going to get Stevenson on HBO again. it's either that or HBO Pays the Purses which it's a toss up if they do that
