Technically, he probably should be stripped..... and if the guy wasnt clearly the best SMW on the planet, then likely nobody would care anyways......

But, he is the best SMW on the planet..... so I have no problem with a somewhat meaningless sanctioning body bending their somewhat meaningless rules by letting Andre Ward keep his somewhat meaningless belt.

How is that Ward's problem? It is up to the WBA to enforce mandatory fights. He has never refused to face a mandatory challenger as far as I know.

Someone who is at least off of a win would be nice, since you know Ward is so great and all.

I'm cool with a tune up fight. He hasn't fought in like 6-7 years so he needs to shake the rust off.

I said before Andre just needs to get back in the ring. Don't care against who, just get that first one in and go from there.

He can no longer claim to be the best anything after being away from the ring for so long. He has lived his entire career on past glories, on one tournament. It is time for him to prove himself again. Nothing is more meaningless than claiming that Ward is still the best SMW in the world.

It's a tune up on an obscure network. It makes sense whether we like it or not.

We all knew it was going to be a tune-up so it's pretty irrelevant who he's fighting.

I assume after Smith, he'll fight Medina. He better whup both of their asses. I don't want to see Ward sticking-and-moving too much, he needs to impose himself and completely out-class them because they are not in his league.

He can, and he is !

Andre Ward is obviously the best SMW on the planet.

Obviously you dont know boxing that well.

Who do you think is the best SMW on the planet ?

Froch? Who Ward whooped with one hand ?

Nothing is more meaningless than claiming Ward is not the man at 168, when he obviously is!
