i been tellin ppl for 2 years that lucas has way better footwork than broner, you can watch the judah and alexander fights to see lucas use very good lateral movement, he doesn't move in straight lines and always tries to get in position so you're at the end of his punches (but he can also fight on the inside)

Indeed, his mid range offense is also crisp and clean. I suppose Matthysse's skill is overlooked due to the brutal power he wields in both hands. I guess power can go both ways, either cover up a fighter's glaring flaws or overshadow his technical abilities.

Matthysse boxed very well against Provo a rematch with Danny would be even more tough for swift of course i think my boy would win but id be a fool if I didn't say it could go either way.

It was a 50/50 fight before they fought the last time and it's a 50/50 fight if they go at it again. Nothing that happened in the first fight indicates to me that Danny should be the big favorite. It was a close fight all the way until Lucas eye got jacked and even then the fight was tightly contested down the stretch.

People overacted to that loss and totally dismissed Mattysse as a caveman brawler, which clearly is not the case.

Broner has horrid footwork, but Matthysse has a real block when it comes to putting it all together and guys throw him off his game rather easily. As much as it pains me to say it, Broner has a better ring IQ and is better able to make use of his talents. As much as I love to watch Lucas fight, I'm not sold on him as a top talent anymore. Neither is Broner though.

Broner took plenty of punishment against Maidana. Maidana is better than Matthyese. He's not as pretty or flashy but he is better(I myself prefer Lucas) and more effective.

I don't think he is better at all Matthysse showed he can box pretty damn well off the back foot maidana can't do that. Matthysse should only have one loss he beat Judah and Alexander and the Garcia fight was close Danny was the better man on the night.

I don't think Broner has bad footwork. There's just some misconception that he's fast on his feet. He isn't. But his footwork isn't bad. He's very balanced and maneuvers well on the inside.

He just isn't slick and as skilled as some people said he was. He's a solid b- level fighter with decent speed and chin and a little skill on the inside. Lucas overwhelms him.
