I think its plausible. Remember after both Maidana fights I was highly critical of what Floyd did. Losing exchanges in the middle of the ring and laying on the ropes (1st fight) and the holding (2nd fight) suggest the points made here have merit.Comment

All these "reports" won't even be brought up after the bout when Floyd finishes schooling Manny. 12 days man. 12 days and texanboi can finally speak again.Comment

Go look at all of Floyd's fights with brawlers who were bigger, stronger and hit hard vs brawlers who were smaller or the same size and not stronger than he is. Also look at him vs people who try to box with him.
Tell me what you see.
I'm not saying he hasn't slowed down but don't fall for the BSComment

I still think Floyd's reach and Manny "following him" will determine the outcome more than this. I just think the points have merit given what I most recently saw from Floyd in the ring.Go look at all of Floyd's fights with brawlers who were bigger, stronger and hit hard vs brawlers who were smaller or the same size and not stronger than he is. What if his "retirement" was really about his hands?Comment

I understand your point but Floyd always has two things going for him:
1.He doesn't NEED to move around to win the fight
2.If moving around doesn't work he will find something else that does to win.
I thought Floyd looked totally unimpressive the second Chino fight. The only thing he did well was stay off of the ropes. However, he does what he always does, adjust and find a way to win.Last edited by SkillspayBills; 04-20-2015, 01:52 PM.Comment

I don't think they have as much merit as people are giving based on Floyd's total body of work.
Nobody can deny the hands thing because that has been there since day 1.
I'm more talking about the legs thing though.Comment

Ask yourself, why does Roach keep feeling the need to talk about Floyd's legs? Oh because he's getting into his head with mind games? 48-0 and fought the most champions in the history of the sport. Floyd may be a volatile ****** in his personal life, but it is undeniable that he is methodical and unwavering in his commitment to training for fights.
Meanwhile, we have Manny stopping mid-workout on film citing leg cramps leading to them striking running from his training, all we are seeing is light mittwork clips, and they've cut a week of sparring out of an already light camp.
Keep telling yourself it's because they're tricking Floyd's camp, I'm sure it helps you sleep at night.Comment

He found a way to win but If you remember I called him "little black wlad" immediately after the fight. that is not what I expected.I understand your point but Floyd always has two things going for him:

It felt like he was desperate for the win, like he was hanging on. Matthysse looked like that Saturday night-the lunging to hold and the holding made him look like he was just trying to hold on.
A win is a win and sometimes you gotta win like that. That was a far different 9-3 than the Cotto fight.Comment
