  • Comments Thread For: Fonfara: After He Hit Me Once, I Knew Chavez Loses

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr was stopped after nine rounds by Andrzej Fonfara on his return to the ring after more than two years two years away.

Chavez Jr had been out of action since March 2013 and looked out of sorts for long spells in his catchweight 172lb clash with the Pole, who ran out a convincing winner in Carson, California.

Fonfara, who fights out of Chicago, landed big shots all night in the outdoor StubHub Center ring, and his left hand in the ninth knocked down Chavez (48-2) for the first time in his professional career.

Best of luck to Fonfara! He's a hard working and humble kid. I hope he wins a belt next because he's the best in his division after Kovalev, maybe even better than Kovalev???

lol that's Chavez problem if his lazy ass would take better care of his body outside ring he wouldn't of had to fight two weight classes out his league he should of listened to his daddy and took an easier opponent then talking bout he want a rematch at 170 lmao ass getting owned by fonfara at that weight too

I got a genuine laugh out of that. But on a serious note. Chavez's success had a lot to do with the ridiculous size advantage he had at 160. And his last two fights were not at 160-- They were at 173 and 168.

Pull yourself together and quit crying like a pussy.
