From a pure business standpoint. How can you not say, Arum is not a great promoter? This guy promoted legendary fighters like Ali, Hagler, ODLH and Manny and Mayweather as well. He has so much class and he's such an intelligent and great speaker.

Just look at how he talks about Mayweather. Nothing but class tbh...

Like I said in the beginning who has ever said he wasn't?

There is messed up stuff he does and he plays the game a certain way but dude has won the boxing game when most people usually lose their ass. He deserves a lot of respect for doing a lot of dirty work from the ground up with guys.

It is not all sun shine, unicorns and rainbows though. In compared to most of what has been going on Arum has done a good job on his island. The problem comes as Arum likes the way things are, so any change he will not really be on the side of.

Arum is easy to understand though, he will always do what is in his best interests. Can't fault that

That's what i'm saying. Although i think it's great for the sport to have boxing on free networks i'd much rather prefer to watch fights on HBO or SHO.

I've never ordered a PPV because of a network or a promotion it was always FOR THE FIGHTERS!

The Documentary was good because of the footage that HBO had of both fighters from them fighting on HBO for YEARS. Provodnikov vs Matthysse was good in the ring not because of HBO but because of the great stylistic match up in the ring.

Stop giving Networks and Promoters more credit than the fighters because neither would be anything without the fighters!

I do enjoy HBO Boxing Coverage better than most, they have perfected it because they been doing it for SO LONG. Lampley is a Bias Dramatic Piece of **** but nobody calls a boxing match better other than him, maybe the Late Great Howard Cosell and Al Michaels but that is all

Well said. There are too many people here who are fans of specific fighters and not the sport itself. So they align themselves with promoters or cable networks associated with those fighters. They will also hope any other network or venture (Showtime, PBC) will fail based on their juvenile and weird obsessions with men they don't even know.

Haymon will never be as great a bidnessman as the great Bob Arum.

Haymon protects his fighters and has them fight garbage opposition to keep that "0"

Then once in a blue moon he'll put on a competitive matchup and everyone comes out like "OMGZ this is such a COOL competitive matchup". Like Dirk Diggler Uk said he's lowered our expectations so much that we now see competitive matchups as a major thing to be excited about.

Arum may guide careers well but he doesn't protect his fighters anywhere near as bad as Haymon does, and makes sure that he puts on great style matchups even if he doesn't have the best stable.

As if that has any impact on my life lol. Haymon is not a promoter ignoramus and the only one crying about any of this is your gay ass. But thanks for letting me know I stuck a nerve

LOL at big upping Bob Arum. Guy has been proven to be a corrupt entity in the sport. Might as well make a thread hyping the WBC next. What good guys there are too "peeleft:

                    Ask Chavez Jr about that.

Haymon put on good matchups up until last year, when he started saving guys for the PBC. Now that PBC has gotten underway he has already given us competitive fights (Thurman/Guerrero, Garcia/Peterson) with more to come.

I think HBO need to clean house when it comes to their live broadcasts. Lampley is on the point of retiring (I thought that was due before now) and Kellerman just doesn't add anything.

I'd keep Roy, but that would be it. Ranallo, Bernstein, and Paulie are simply better than them. All though Paulie becoming a full blown Haymon shill may jeopardise that somewhat.
