    Hopkins as commentator...

I found him un-thoughtful, boring and biased...maybe nerves?

He's been better. Last night he was awful.....had big problems getting his thoughts together. He must have said "you know" about a hundred times, which is a clear indication that he was stalling for time while trying to gather his thoughts.

it was a pitiful lennox lewis-like performance from bhop. roy is still (and still!) the best boxer commentator since george foreman.

          He's a crap commentator.

Hopkins only speaks fluidly when he's giving long-winded lectures about how smart he is.

I agree. That was painful, neither smooth nor lucid in his commentating. Roy is the best, followed by Paulie.

There is a reason no broadcaster has given Hopkins a job despite Bernard openly campaigning for one.

He's just not eloquent enough. If he approached it like how he would have a casual convo with peers at a barbershop perhaps he would sound more fluid. He's a guy who loves to hear himself talk and tries to sound smart but just doesn't quite pull it off.

I wasn't impressed at all. From hearing Roy Jones doing the Crawford-Dulorme fight, it was a heavy step down for a commentator.

Focused too much on Matthysse, too little analysis and way too short sentences in the build up.

                  As I said, not impressed.

Is this a joke or what?

I loved George Foreman in the commentator role, but he wasn't very good at it. He was just a funny side-kick.

He had his moments, but certainly also had some blunders.
