Comments Thread For: Photos: Crawford Drills Dulorme To Become WBO Champ

Arlington, Texas - Terence Crawford (26-0, 18KOs) became a two-division world champion with a sixth round knockout of Thomas Dulorme (22-2, 14KOs) to capture the vacant WBO junior welterweight championship. The belt became vacant last November after the sanctioning body stripped Chris Algieri for moving up in weight to challenge Manny Pacquiao for his WBO welterweight title.

The official time of the stoppage was 1:51 of the sixth round.

The fight started off with Dulorme as the aggressor. Not many shots were landing but Dulorme was winning rounds with his aggression. Dulorme started to get his timing down in the fourth as he started to throw more power shots.

Dulorme was doing good (as a matter of fact I think he was ahead on the cards) until he got clobberd & never recovered & instead of holding on, he decided to exchange shots & that was his down fall.. Even thou it did look like Crawford was holding back, like he was waiting to let loose later on in the fight..

Crawford patiently waited for Dulorme to fade, as Dulorme usually does.
... Crawford looked much more "rehydrated" as compared to the weigh in...
I think he could easily spark Danny at one of those "catch weights" even right now.

Crawford was 100% waiting around. Took the measure, got the timing, jumped when he wanted and ended it when he wanted. It was really impressive.

Maybe Dulorme was "winning" some rounds, but he was doing nothing effective and Crawford never looked the least bit bothered. I can't wait to see this guy in with the big guns at 140, so we see the real measure of him at the weight. He has so much promise.

... He still gets countered too easily for my taste... And not enough reach also... I also think that 140 would be Crawford's realm at this stage.

Really composed performance from Crawford. At the time I thought he wasn't scoring enough, but with the benefit of hindsight you can see how comfortable and in charge he was.

If Mikey Garcia settled in well at 140 I would love to see him in with Crawford. That would be an amazing technical match-up.

Felt bad for Dulorme. This outcome doesn't mean he's a bad fighter, despite what many fools on here will say. He's got good boxing skills and is plenty fast. He's a likable guy, so I hope he can come back stronger. Crawford is a real talent, but he's not unbeatable as some of the HBO crew try to suggest. The guy is slick and versatile, for sure, but there are several fighters on the horizon who can more than challenge him. Looking forward to a matchup with Matthysse.
