Algieri outboxed him and yes, fought the entire fight with one eye. He did ran a lot though, still won a fair, close fight. Then again, Provodnikov was even slower in that fight and lets admit it Algieri was lucky he didnt get KO later on the fight. The Provodnikov we saw last night, in that shape and that stamina, would have eaten Algieri alive.

... Don't call me dude, dude...
On one hand: re-watch that fight until the "eye accident"...
... On another hand: Algieri is a well educated intellectual who was able to cope with the Mansi savage, but he tragically failed against Pac...
... Danny never called out Algieri, he called an un-ranked frail Salka, coming from South, instead...
... Just don't compare apples with pears, dude...Comment

Matthysse won 7-5 on my card and for the first 7 rounds or so, it wasn't close but Matthysse started to fade, tried to cruise and Provo caught up and hurt him BAD. Good, good fight!Comment

I don't see Lucas as the second coming of Whoever... But I think that it would have been fair for Danny to give him a rematch if he was so "great"...Algieri outboxed him and yes, fought the entire fight with one eye. He did ran a lot though, still won a fair, close fight. Then again, Provodnikov was even slower in that fight and lets admit it Algieri was lucky he didnt get KO later on the fight. whats interesting is where matthysse goes now? im not sure if tc v matthysse will happen till late next year.Comment

... This is precisely why Lucas deserved a rematch... (not because he's Lucas, but just because of that accident which dramatically changed to overall outcome of the fight.)Comment

I thought it was close, but I think a big reason why is Matthysse's corner telling him the fight wasn't close. They were instilling no urgency in their fighter and he was letting Ruslan potentially steal some rounds.
Still, it was clear Lucas was mostly in control throughout.Comment
