Why don't American cops use breathalyzers?

If they actually had a coordination test or whatever that would test the drivers ability in a good way I'd be all for it. If you could test it properly, the only thing that should matter is your ability to drive, not the result on a breathalyzer. But that walk on a line-stuff doesn't look very assuring.

People aren't very good judges of their ability after consuming alcohol. Personally i think driving after drinking should be illegal completely.
