Thank you Hagler of providing a classic example of psychological projection. You see folks, Hagler is simply projecting himself and his own securities. Remember this is the man who never fought again because he simply couldn't accept the loss to SRL.
Actually, Hagler had a couple mid-career losses and a draw. He seemed to deal with these really well, because he then dominated at middleweight for nearly a decade, only allowing the Duran fight (and then Leonard) to go to decision.

Hagler didn't quit immediately after the loss. He wanted to get a rematch with Leonard but he never got it so he just quit boxing because he was tired of waiting Leonard again.
