So Yvon Micheal says Stevenson-Bika averaged 1.7 million viewers (and 1.85M peak), which is up from the initial 1.37 million overnight estimate. Thats pretty damn good.

you ask this in every thread duva asked for a purse bid to be expedited and now because the US currency fluctuates too much the fight cant happen

Im certainly not defending Duva, but what you posted is not accurate. Duva asked for the designation as "mandatory". It was GYM who said they did not want to negotiate and instead wanted to go straight to purse bid.

That being said, Duvas comments about currency exchange rates are absurd.......

Then why did Kathy duva petition for the 50/50 purse bid.. She requested it, and was granted it, and then backed out,..

Total crap to ask for something, get it, and then turn around and say **** off and back out of purse bid...

Beat your chest, force a mandatory, force a purse bid, big boys take out their wallets, tuck tail, run. Is this really happening?

I never defended Stevenson and Haymon's duck, but to call this anything else is lying to yourself. This is like Stevenson talking a bunch of ****, waging a PR war, and then shamelessly ducking. Even more indefensible than Stevenson's duck.

But what other reason is there to become the mandatory other than making it go to purse bid? Any negotiations between Main Events and GYM would have been exactly the same without Kovalev being the mandatory. Being the mandatory adds nothing to the free negotiations.

It seems to me it was her initial intention for it to go to purse bid until she found out PBC had larger pockets than she though.

absolutely agree 100%. Perhaps she thought getting named as mando would bring GYM to the table. If so, she thought wrong

Duva did not force a purse bid, GYM requested it and they did not even bother to attempt to negotiate a deal. In fact, they asked WBC to skip the negotiation phase. So it seems to me that there is enough blame to go around.

On a side note... I wonder who actually wrote Yvon Michel's letter. He certainly did not.

In all fairness, both sides wants the fight. I guess the only way this is going to fly is another co-promotion like the May-Pac faight. But this time between HBO/Main EVents/Al Haymon...
