While light heavyweight rulers Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson won't be trading leather anytime soon, their promoters are exchanging letters after Main Events pulled out of the April 17th WBC purse bid that was designed to set up a meeting between the two.

BoxingScene.com was able to obtain this proposal that Kathy Duva and Main Events sent to Yvon Michel, the head of GYM, that explained their situation and hope to still negotiate this fight at a 50-50 financial split [Click To Read Letter Here].

No he wouldn't. Hardly anybody does, and if they are, they bring a large fanbase. Kovalev doesn't, HBO is his best bet by far.

I'm not seeing what everyone else is seeing. Duva appeared to make a fair offer and is looking to negotiate a fight. Why can't GYM negotiate a fair offer? Why does it have to be a purse bid? A deal takes compromise from both sides and this purse bid seems suspect to me.

From what I read from Yvon Michel's letter, he has accepted Duva's proposal as long as HBO puts up the money.
