As annoying as it is for us, fighters need a tune up after long periods out.

It isn't annoying at all, it's not actually a bad fight considering. Take all the guys in the top ten of the rankings who currently do not have a fight planned or contracted and the options are few and far between. Smith is a top twenty fighter, that is a fact. The guys in the top ten such as Dirrell's and Chavez will never face him, and then their is Froch refusing to fight anywhere but Nottingham. Who else is there ? Sturm, Abe and Stieglitz have fights ordered or planned. Kessler hasn't fought in as long and GGG is still reluctant to move up or call the champion out.

Kessler fought tune-ups for damn near 40 fights. Golovkin is 33 yerars old and hasn't fought anything other than tune-ups in his entire career.

Ward obviously has a long way to go to match your criteria for hero worship.

Reasoning and rationale behaviour isn't the strong point of anyone hating on Ward. It is pointless and a waste of time, I've read through nearly every comment bemoaning his decision to potentially face Periban, these same people here are still not happy he is facing Smith ! Ok Smith and Periban are poor fighters but have only lost to world class or contenders to titles, their are both fringe level. Yet right now Smith is light years ahead of Periban regarding stock and standing. I could have accepted Periban over Smith around the time Smith was stopped by Groves and Periban was still undefeated and yet to challenge for the vacant WBC belt as he held a lofty ranking.

If Ward stops Smith it is a statement, if he wins a wide decision he has shaken the rust and he is a winner all round, Smith has literally zero chance to win and I think that is what all the upset, butt hurt and strain is really about here. But then again who would beat Ward in the division ? It is actually amusing most the fact certain fans are desperate for Ward to move up to light heavy to fae Beterbiev and Kovalev in desperation to see him lose, or simply to allow GGG to quit ducking the inevitable consequence he will have to move up a division to face a challenge instead of pursuing caree junior middle weights.

Spot on. Golovkin fans are in disarray. They actually preferred Ward to retire. Now their hiding their piss soaked knickers by ridiculing his comeback opponent

As is most often the case, you have either no idea what you are talking about or trolling. I dont really give a **** which one it is.

I'm trolling as are you with "Ward has fought tune-ups for 3 n a half years"

You should have worked for the **** party with all the spin and propaganda you like to pedal.

Ward has one of the best resumes in boxing. Your heroes have amongst the worst.

                    Live with it.

I'm a Smith fan. I used to go watch him fight 6 rounders in Liverpool and Manchester. So, im glad he's getting fights now against the likes of AA and possibly Ward.

From Ward's point of view. I think it's a poor fight.
That said, it's got to the stage now that he needs a 'warm -up' because he's been out that long. He just shouldn't have ahold of a belt to defend while doing so.
