WBC have already made GGG his mandatory defense and the winner of the Cotto - Geale fight will have to defend against GGG next.

Canelo does not have a title to defend, much less a lineal title.

would prefer there be no cw.. but 157 is within the middleweight limit. fair game, play ball. geale's a proven professional boxer, he should have no problem making the cw

I said I'd be ok with Cotto fighting ANY middle weight but not at 157...

Man I die a little inside when there are title fights at CW. I felt ashamed when Floyd fought Canelo at 152 and that farce 9th title Manny got. It's like divisions don't even matter anymore. I know catch weights have been around for a long time but they've never been ok to me. There's no way to defend a champion forcing the challenger to meet at a lower weight than the already established limit.

He has cemented his status as the biggest cherrypicker in boxing. Boxrec makes my argument for me. Look at where his opponents were when he beat them. All the decent ones handed his ass to him on a platter since 2007. The rest were disabled, retiring, shot, or nobodies.

He is an cardboard cutout held up by his management, to give a hero to a boxing demographic going through a dryspell. It's blatant. Trout exposed the real Cotto.

The only time a catch weight might be OK in a title fight, is if the champion is coming down in weight to accommodate a fighter moving up from a lower weight class. The catch weight is never OK if it is demanded by the champion as a condition for the fight. It should never be to the champion's benefit.
