The point was, did you or anyone watching it think that Garcia won 5 of first 6 rounds? This is news to me.
and one judge gave all 6 rounds to Garcia!!!
.
Egregiously wrong
That was just expectation scoring. And Farhood's scoring was meant to ease us in to the fact that Garcia was going to get rounds he didn't deserve.
The expectation being that Garcia had more power and his misses and touches (see?! he touched something! i heard a thpp!) were worth more than Peterson's jabs. The 'magic points for expected power' formula. Peterson outworked Garcia early and late, dominated a confused fighter; Garcia... with a tremendous chin and power who gets credit for more for some reason. Face it, Garcia is an unentertaining Ruslan Provodnikov. And really, I think Peterson just did more in about every round... he took off one round to see what Garcia could do and Candy did nothing. It was after that we saw Peterson go about completely dominating the native-Phila-champ-of Puerto-Rico-except-when-Mauricio Herrera-is-there.
I totally agree. Peterson definitely won the first two rounds, even if it was the ugliest two rounds ever. Ineffective aggression is a deduction in the points system. Chasing in a straight line and missing does not give you the nod if the other guy controls the range, pace, and lands the cleaner shots. Even if those shots were "just" jabs.
So then Peterson won the first 3 rounds in your mind because most people have peterson winning round 3 myself included and I scored for Danny. If you turn in a scored are with Peterson winning the first 3 rounds you get laughed at 80% of the time.
Wow, they gave Garcia 5 of 6 first rounds even though he did nothing for some of those rounds. I have to see it again but no way does Garcia deserve 5 out of 6. No way!
Peterson did nothing those rounds and was running. Danny did nothing but was actually trying to fight, in a boxing ring, FIGHTING matters.
I had Garcia up clearly 5-1 after 6. I literally wanted to go on a rant about how I never want to see Peterson again in my life after 6-rounds. That all changed of course, after the sixth round.
And FYI, I'm not known for being a fan of Garcia. I'm just calling it how I saw it.
Agree 100 % . It honestly looked like Peterson's game plan for the first 6 rounds was doing what Lara did with Canelo ...but actually throwing less than Lara . I doubt he looks back at the fight and thinks he did all he could .
... non-fight, non-fighters, non-card...
... no weight divisions, no belts, no nothing...

I never thought about it like that... That sums up this fight perfectly, a lot of nothing.
... No heart involved in this card; no suspense...
... I thought they will deliver another draw, after Quillin-Lee...
... These Haymon "shows" seem over-staged to me...
