Comments Thread For: Barry Hunter: I Saw Doubt in Danny Garcia’s Eyes

Peterson looks how Floyd usually does after his fights. Unfazed, not cut or bruised and full of energy like he could have went 6 more rounds.Comment

Saw the fight at a bar.
It wasn't pro-anything, but from the crowd that actually watched it, Peterson wasn't getting any love for the first half of the fight. Can't really blame them.
And I wasn't going to be the boxing doucher to point out why Peterson could have been ahead or even on the card.
Garcia got the nod on the judges scorecards.
But he was getting a whopping those championship rounds.Comment

There was a lot of doubt in Danny's eyes last night. It's funny how of all the people he fought, Lamont Peterson was the one who made him doubtful.Comment

Hunter started telling him "walk him down" "Hold the phone" (Im assuming as in in a phonebooth) and he also told him not to be ******.
I'll you the same thing I told others. I believe the late rounds success came cause of his early rounds strategy. Had Peterson gone in there trying to **** it out from the beginning, he could had gotten starched. Cause Danny is strong early in his fights. They studied Garcia. They knew he couldn't handle movement and they knew he fades hard late in his fights. Peterson slowly started to pressure Garcia and once he felt Garcia's best shot he continued to pressure more and eventually walking him down.
It was a good strat. Its Just impossible to get a judge to score in favor of the "runner" nowadays or to score 10-10 rounds.Comment

My opinion of the fight was, if Peterson would have traded in the early rounds, it would have not been close.Hunter started telling him "walk him down" "Hold the phone" (Im assuming as in in a phonebooth) and he also told him not to be ******.

I'm not a world class trainer, so to discount my view on the fight doesn't really matter.
I think if Peterson would have started in earlier, he would have won, and by a good margin.
Just my two pennies.Comment

Im no world class trainer either and in the end it just comes down to opinions. But dont you think by starting earlier he was risking getting KDed or stopped like in the Matthysse fight? Or how early do you mean?My opinion of the fight was, if Peterson would have traded in the early rounds, it would have not been close.

How many body shots did Peterson sit down on in the first rounds?
Power shots that compu-whatever score?
What I'm saying is, Garcia isn't as dangerous as some make him out to be.
For some.
Could have been a good game plan by Peterson and his corner. (Probable).
Not enough to get him the W. (Judges.)
I think it's obvious who had the better of it when the 12th bell rung.Comment
