Ten Point Must System MUST change

The current scoring system does not effectively reflect the winner of a fight. The first feel out rounds where nothing really happens are scored 10/9, the same as a round where one guy lands heavy shots and clearly wins the round without without a knockdown - I know a wipe out round can be 10/8 but that's an extreme. In the past there used to be many even rounds scored for what they called "nothing rounds" nowadays the round is most always given to one fighter 10/9.
Why not use all ten points to indicate the reality of a round? There has to be a better way to show who imposed their will on who --

That would result in a lot of draws

Why? It would be less draws. Last night Danny Garcia didn't win one round by more than a hair. Peterson won clear cut rounds. Those rounds would be worth more points.

Since I just said this like 20 minutes ago yea.

I have felt half points, was the way to go for a while edging a round 9.5, win a round clear 9, beat the dude bad 8.5. Kncokdowns can be .5 for weak to 1.5 for making a dude do a back flip.

It would also make point deductions easier because you can take off half points for minor infractions as opposed to a full point.

          e

5 judges.open scoring round by round.

          A scoreboard per say
          Like all other sports

Its up to the boxers and teams to adapt.
But the fans.should know the score

I even like changing it to 7 rounds 5 minutes each

Rings for 140 and 147 pound fighters to 18x18.

I would agree. The scoring is not right.

Since each round is worth 10 points then why not use each point as to mean something.

You win a close round: 10-9
You win a clear round: 10-8
Flash knock down but won the round clearly: 10-7
Knock down that clearly hurt the fighter and won the round clearly: 10-6

Above is just at the top of my head. Can be polished up.

BUT it may be difficult ........ Nowadays, some judges even forget to deduct an extra point for the 2nd or 3rd knock down on a clear won round. lol

I think they should score some rounds even. There should be a difference between a round clearly won, and a round that was a toss-up.

                ummm....

the alternative is the 1 pt round.

so now a round were a guy barely wins it gets 1 and the opp 0.

                even worst.

                  10 pt must is fine.

just have judges score close rounds even.

a guy has to clearly win a round.

That would be the extreme other side, no reason to totally go away from the ten-point must but there is a lot of meat on the bone to make it more indicative of the fight actually taking place.

All winning rounds are not equal, all knock downs and point deductions are not equal either for that matter. Why should everything be treated as it is now, it is confusing for hardcore fans let alone people that barely watch boxing.

It is such an easy fix to, but people make it so dramatic.
