Danny the MOST Underrated
Let me start by saying that I LOVE defensive fighters, and are always among my favorites (Floyd, Rigondeaux, Lara) to name a few, and I had Lara beating Canelo (even if you wan't to call it running).
But the hate this Danny boy keeps getting is unreal. He had a lackluster performance against Herrera but he still won the fight, he just didn't won any fans. You guys have to understand that Danny Garcia doesn't really have the tools to outshine or outclass most decent opponents. He has nothing special, and not great at anything, but he IS good at everything and manages to always do enough to WIN the fights. He continues to be overlook and continues to be underrated but the guy has beat everyone that they have but on his way and some decent names in his record book.
My score card 8-4 Danny. Yes it was that wide open in my score cards. If there is a rematch I will more than likely bet on Peterson, but this fight was clearly won by Danny. Its not even about running, I say in boxing you are allowed to run or move fast as long as you stay withing the dimensions of the ring, they have dimensions so you can use them to your advantage, but this dude Perterson was making a joke of himself, I don't know what jab you guys are talking about cuz for the first 7 round a barely touch Garcia jab or no jab. Garcia never did real damage on Peterson but he as clearly landing on Peterson body and face with power punches, so Perterson defense wasn't elusive AT ALL. He just was able to withstand the punches. All the moving and not even throwing counters or the jab which I didn't saw landing, made him looked like a clown. Round 8 he finally learned he could be the aggresor and owned Danny. Round 9 I gave it to Danny again landing most of the punches and Peterson was completely acting like a clown when he could have easily won that round, but he prefer to imitate Sugar, and got hit plenty for doing so. Round 10-12 belong to Perterson. Perterson had 2 great rounds, 2 good rounds and one that he gaved away. 8-4 Garcia, 7-5 if I am being modest, this is a sport scored by rounds, punches landed, and the effectiveness of those punches, not by ring generalship or by running.
I believed in pure boxing and hit and don't get hit, but this fool only has himself and his corner to blame for a clear lost against Danny Garcia. Maybe he feared Danny's power and realized to late he couldn't hurt him.
