I wouldn't have minded the nod going either way.
Peterson just kept himself relevant with that performance.

So judges no longer give credit to defense and ring generalship???-LPs jab and footwork won the first half of the fight and he walked him down with hard shots the second half of the fight-Please remember Dannys face after the fight vs LPs face after the fight-the bruises spoke for themselves!

I just watched the fight again and...yeah, I think Peterson won that. People who said he did "too much running" either didn't watch the fight or wasn't paying attention. Peterson was outboxing Garcia while making him miss a lot of shots. He just simply went on the offense in the 2nd half but people seem to mistake that as "starting too late" when that's not true at all.
I will admit that he did move around a little too much in rounds 4 and 10 but this is a 12 round fight so people shouldn't go by just those two rounds. Every other round, Peterson was landing some significant shots that stopped Garcia in his tracks and later on, was doing it at will.
So...how did Garcia win again? Because he sure did nothing impressive and I think it's clear to everybody that his days are numbered.Last edited by Mr. Punch-Out!!; 04-22-2015, 06:44 PM.

I love to watch devensive fighters but there is a difference between running and fighting defensively while dishing some punishment at the same time. So now the judges need to give points based on face damage? I guess elbows and headbutts are fare game too so fighters can inflict more physical/visual damage!!!!! My God, this NSB logic!!!!

I'm going to try to not be bias so here goes:
1. Garcia won the early rounds even if he wasn't doing much damage, but at least he was throwing and landing a few body shots here and there.
2. What Peterson did in the early rounds wasn't boxing, he was running. His jab was hardly landing so it's silly for anyone to say he out boxed Garcia.
3. Peterson tapped that ass in the championship rounds.
4. Peterson got the better of Garcia in the overall fight but boxing is scored by rounds. He could easily won those early rounds with just a little bit of clean offense but something tells me he was worried about getting clipped early.
All in All Peterson loses but wins and Garcia wins but loses.

"All Peterson did was run in the early rounds doe..."
Well, what exactly did Garcia do besides be a sitting duck and show an inability to throw any form of jab or cut off the ring? Peterson was outboxing him most of the early rounds and landing enough shots to win 'em. I had it 8-4, Peterson is just being a class guy because he knows Garcia personally and he's sure the fans know that Danny got another gift.Last edited by _original_; 04-12-2015, 12:11 PM.
