Comments Thread For: Demetrius Andrade Wants the Al Haymon Opportunities

Junior middleweight titleholder Demetrius Andrade is in a division where eight of the top 11 fighters are signed with powerful boxing adviser Al Haymon.

Andrade, however, is not. And that, he feels, is keeping him from getting bouts with many of those names.

“A lot of promoters like to monopolize the boxing world and want to control each side of the ring and have both fighters fight each other and win at the end of the day,” Andrade said. “That’s just business.”

For Andrade to be able to get the big fights he wants, then, he would have to be part of Haymon’s team.

Canelo and Cotto are his biggest paydays, what does Haymon have for him at 154? Charlo?

That is likely how Haymon will end up with most of the top fighters, it puts that is such a tough position, if you want the Big Paydays and Matches you will have to go where that is. All you can do is say THANK YOU to your current Promoters for what they have done for you up to this point...BUT you have do what is best for your family and that is to go get the money and the SECURITY.

Right now his current promotion cannot land him the big fights so it is no reason to stay with them. Either he has to jump to Top Rank, GBP or Haymon that is just the way it is

In his Division signing with Haymon makes the most sense!

Canelo might, who else is he going to fight? Haymon has the rest of the division tied up.

I actually thought Canelo would've considered Andrade this time but he had just fought a mover in Lara and went for the come-forward Kirkland instead.
