I'm surprised Brook's opponents are getting this much hate.

Ok Gavin isn't deserving of a shot at this point, but isn't ranked that badly and is a marketable opponent. Plenty of other fighters have taken on undeserving challengers to make money. Like all the top 168'ers having a hard on for getting a Chavez Jr fight.

Rios isn't that bad a choice of an opponent. Especially if Brook's going to fight regularly.

One Time is the only more credible opponent that is likely to take the fight imo. Bradley looks like he's heading to 154.

Thurman is calling him out! You can't ***** about Khan and then pick Rios over Thurman.

Rios fits the bill. He's a name in America and has an entertaining style. He'll makr Brook fight and probably make him look good.

People need to be realistic when looking at opponents. Khan was obviously his first choice but he ducked. Marquez was next but he's retiring.

I get people are hating on the gavin fight. It's crap. But people need to realize that this is just a quickie to keep him active and busy. People are forgetting he just had a horrific injury and has been out for a while. It was only the plan to fight in July/August if Khan didn't come to the table.

It's obviously a lot more sell-able than someone like Diego Chaves who would also make it an absolute stinker of a fight.

People are acting like Rios is some bum. He's a good fighter. Better than Khan's latest win and also his next guaranteed win. At least he comes to fight and has balls and some pop. He might get laid out but at least he'll come to fight.

They tried to get Khan & Marquez - but they both didn't want to do it. Thurman is staying in the US and Bradley has a date in June. Maidana is fat. Broner is not fighting at 147. Mayweather and Pacquiao are fighting. Alexander just got beaten for every round vs Khan so that's pointless.

The only other fight that could be made was potentially the Porter rematch. But who would really want to see that this soon?

Rios is a better name than Gavin. I give him a pass considering he's being very active and plans to fight 4 times a year.

Let''s recognize... very few top 10 welterweights are fighting this much and at that rate.

He did clearly call out Khan. Let Brook make his money. He has a right to maximize his earnings. At least Gavin and Rios are not Salka's.

They are ranked welterweights just not elite.'

But if an even bigger fight is available, I expect him to take it.

I like it. Rios will come to fight, make it rough and also he's entertaining.

Rios could also set up a potential Pacquiao fight given the Top Rank connection.

Gavin don't deserve shît he can get smashed up. And Hearn starting to piss me off with these poor match ups. Hearn needs to have faith in brook like he did with froch and let him fight the best. Gavin got beaten in a European title fight so he's not even euro level. And rios as much as I like the guy is a complete bag. It was obvious from the start once rios moved up from lightweight he wouldn't be able to walk through fighters his own size.
