Why do some people think so highly of Wladimir Klitschko?

It seems this guy has more fans than his superior brother has. i mean i can understand he's got great skills, but his brother is still clearly the better all round fighter. you need to have a bit of everything to be a truely succesful boxer, and this guy simply doesn't have everything needed in order to be truely succesful. of course he'll beat the Byrds of this world because Byrd hasn't the power to trouble him. i think he'll go down in history as a talented, but flawed fighter, like Gerry Cooney. but the people who worship him like he's the second coming, i simply don't understand.

I find it annoying and lets face the facts. He is not the better heavyweight because he put on a valiant effort against Lennox Lewis. Look at the names on his record:

    Danny Williams
    Corrie Sanders
    Kirk Johnson
    Larry Donald
    Obed Sullivan

Find another name worth note on his record, then tell me he is a better fighter than his little brother. I might have posted this too many times....but it is getting really annoying how he is generally regarded as the "best heavyweight"

    Yeah ****ing right.

Look at the names Wladimir has defeated:

    Axel Schulz
    Monte Barrett
    Chris Byrd
    Derrick Jefferson
    Charles Shufford
    TOS
    Frans Botha
    Jameel Mcline
    Danell Nicholson
    Samuel Peter
    Ray Mercer
    Dave Bostice

Sure he has 3 losses by stoppage. Vitali has 2 of them. And call a "dog a dog" not a ****ing "cat that barks".

"He hurt his shoulder" "If it wasn't for the cut" blah blah.

Vitali < Wladimir enough said. And its really annoying how people think he was the man to beat simply because of his outing against Lennox Lewis. The same out of shape Lewis would have had serious trouble with the better fighter in Wlad.

    Kthanks.

Vitali Klitschko was never a fraction of the fighter Wlad was, and was spawned out of his shadow.

Wladimir was the better fighter, but as for your question I guess they think so highly of him because of his skills, but HOW MUCH praise he gets from some people is a bit strange.

He's got a good resume, aside from his losses, and his offensive arsenal is superior to any heavyweight today. He does, however, have quite a few nuthuggers.

Except for Mercer, who although was washed up, was KOing his comp left and right before Wlad bulldozed him

                Why?

Schultz was robbed against Foreman and was an decent heavyweight....he'll better than decent. Shufford was a decent prospect at the time they fought, Botha is the fighter top guys use as a measuring stick....and they all have one thing in common: they knock him out, unlike other mediocre heavyweights. Dannell Nicholson was a former champion that holds a victory over Ruiz, and his role was similar to Botha's. Mercer was rejuvinated and was knocking opponents out left and right...in the process earning himself a shot at a big fight. Wlad demolished his old ass and showcased his skills by knocking out a fighter who had never been on the canvas before.

Oh and you know what those guys had in common? none of them had been knocked out before facing Wlad. Shufford also holds a victory over the highly regarded Lamon Brewster also.

Dannel Nichalson was old, Mercer was fighting tomato cans. The only thing Mercer had left was his jab, which I must admit was still great. I dont know about Axel, Charles Shufford beat Brewster but Lamon isnt all that great. Besides, Brewster was still green at the time.

All of what you said is true.

My silent point was directed at the notion the division is weak....and if you give anyone credit...you have to give credit to Wlad. His resume is the best in the division.

Better than Ruiz and Byrd because he knocked most of those guys out and wasn't recieving gift decisions.
