I don't believe Rios and Alvarado were ever on PPV. I didn't even watch two of them. Pacquaio-Marquez 5 is a PPV fight because they are actually massive names and PPV fighters.

I didn't say it was meaningless. I just said it clearly isn't a PPV fight.

Will it though? Sky are pretty good at pushing a product. It's a pity they don't release PPV numbers regularly.

This is what concerns me most about the situation. They can sell a product well, like you say. When that's coupled with a desire on the part of the consumer to feel involved in an event that's being hyped, to be caught up in that excitement, however falsely generated, then it's easy to make decisions based on emotion rather than logic.

No matter how much my friends agreed with me about Bellew-Cleverly and why it should be boycotted in the run up to the fight, on the day, a couple of them buckled because they couldn't help but convince themselves that it would be a great fight and was worth paying extra for. They stopped making logical decisions in favour of excitement.
