Of course there are 2 fighters in the ring. So anything can happen and no matter what their plans are they both will gauge in that ring on what they can and can't do . It may not be the same as in the gym.
Well this sounds good, but after analyzing the Bradley and Algeri fight I just can't see PAC out boxing Floyd. Just to many flaws and wreckless punches thrown, but that's what makes PAC the Pacman. I think PAC can punch and hurt Floyd so he has a very good punchers chance, but I don't think this a fight where your athleticism alone can when you the fight! To beat Floyd your going to have to be athletic and a thinker! I always see PAC do the same thing. If it's not going good, he just goes harder! I really don't see PAC beating Floyd unless he catches him with a good punch!!!

Manny is gonna have to close the distance to land. And Manny isn't doing much of the in-n-out attack he had at the lower weights. I think he'll have a bit of success shooting the lead straight left. But, he'll be lunging and eventually will be countered, probably with the pull counter or check hook.
I doubt there will be much, if any, pull countering. Depending on his stance, I can see more of a check hook taking place but that will also leave Floyd more exposed since Manny is a southpaw. Against righties, Floyd is less exposed. So he does it more often.

I can see Floyd's size and reach giving Manny some problems but Floyd is a reaction type fighter. What I mean is that, except for his pot shots, Floyd just tries to counter you to a win. So maybe the height and reach will be less of an issue. So Manny just needs to be careful with the countering and Floyd's occasional straight right hand. So that is why I think that Manny's team game plan will have Manny going in with a more reserved approach.

The only time that Floyd will dig in deeper into his arsenal is if the fight starts getting out of reach for him. Only then will you see him sitting down on his punches more and attacking more. Floyd does not fight a risky type fight. It's not in his nature.

This is the vibe that I'm getting on how the fight will start. Things can change fast if someone gets clipped.

Remember that very few saw (expected) Manny beating Oscar and especially the way he beat him. Same goes with Cotto. Not the way Manny won it. So its not out of the realm that Manny can show both you and me something that may seem like an unlikely scenario.

I'm not saying that this will be a technical fight from round 1 thru 12. I'm just saying that that is how I think this fight will start out. What happens after that will all depend on how each one of them performed in the early rounds. One of them will only change it up if they see that there initial plan is not working out as good as they thought it would.

As for being athletic and a thinker to beat Floyd. Well, Manny is athletic and he is a thinker. Its just that you need to be much more creative when you are attacking a defensive counter puncher. This doesn't mean that Manny doesn't think. If he didn't, he would not be where he is at. With offense, there is a higher probability of making a mistake. That's all. Just look at Floyd attacking Maidana with his pull counter. While it was not an all out attack by Floyd, he still made a mistake.

This Floyd Sr. is a real clown. This is the same announcement he made prior to the Pacquiao vs Hatton fight. When Hatton lost... Floyd Sr. shamefully went into hiding. Now he is making same announcement again. HA HA HA

He can't help himself and it's that trait that made Floyd wanna cut him off several months ago. I don't think what he said was too bad but what he'll say next might be though lol.

Great post! But a couple of flaws in the post! Golden Boy was not the same! It was his fault but he was so weight drained and still wouldn't have won because PAC was just to fast for Oscar! As far as PAC being a thinker, I disagree. Marquez proved that. Through out all of the fights PAC made the same mistakes! And I'm not even talking him getting countered. Floyd never makes the same mistakes. Now I do want to see how he deals with PACs speed but that goes for PAC also
