Former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri disagrees with the experts who believe that Floyd Mayweather's defense will be the difference against Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Algieri fought Pacquiao last November in Macau, China. He went down six times and lost a twelve round decision to the Filipino superstar.

Mayweather is known as a defensive wizard who rarely takes any punishment during his fights. He often dominates the competition with a combination of speed, defense and counter-punching.

When Mayweather tries to counter, Pacquiao should throw. They both are going to be hit and be hit HARD. Thats when we will have a WAR erupt! Styles makes fight and these styles are so unique there is no clear winner thats why you have many experts have it as a toss up. May 2nd is just around the corner. Can not wait!

It will only work if the ref allows the fight to turn into a hugging frenzy. It would be a shame if it did. Waste of money. If Floyd is penalized for hugging, Pac's combos will be the difference.

Pac did have trouble with JMM's counters in every fight, but Pac also dropped and busted up JMM in every fight... the question is if Floyd has as good of a beard as JMM has to sustain the counters over time to get the decision.

Manny will be hit by counters, floyd will be hit by pacs combos. Lets see who wants it most. Floyd is,not gonna win this fight without fighting. Pot shot and throwing single shots are not gonna get it done. He will need to be more active. Manny will need to be manny, and not fall for th traps, and remember his head movement, and not falling in constantly.
