frankie gavin is a former amateur world champ

    that must be equal something

even if it was in the ams

he kinda fell off in the pros but brook vs gavin is a good stay busy fight before a big summer or autumn class

He hasnt done anything as a Pro though, thats the only thing that counts.

Also his Am World Championship was at Lightweight. He finished his am career at LWW and I think thats where he should have stayed. He looks weak and pudgy at WW and has no business there

Boxing history is full of good, and even great, amateur fighters who never amounted to much in the pro ranks.

Audley Harrisson was an olympic old medalist, amateurs dont guarantee any success in the pros. Gavin already got exposed at European level by Bundu who was shutout by thurman.

It's not a bad stay busy fight considering it's in May. Most fighters wouldn't have fought anybody and wait 8 months until another fight

What a great great fight. Gavin vs brook

Gavin with the scintillating 10 pillow punches per round style

In fairness the fight wouldn't be happening if Khan had a pair of balls. At least he is staying active, hopefully he'll step it up with a big fight in July.

Brook vs Gavin wouldve been ok if he wasnt coming off a fight with Jo Jo Dan. Im not against a champ taking a "give me" fight after he wins a title especially for the 1st time but 2 give me fights in a row should be a strippable offense.
