So Stevenson now equals Jon Jones and Chris Weidman? Those are probably 2 of the top 5 stars in the UFC.

If Floyd/Pacquiao/Canelo/Cotto/GGG/Kovalev/DGarcia did these ratings then yes I agree they would be bad.

We still don't have the whole numbers to evaluate how well or bad this card did but like the article said "Only 1 other sport did over a 1.0 rating".

My point being that any champ in ufc draws enough to PPv except for 125/135. Boxing is in such bad shape that a ko artist that's a legit champ and has multiple defenses and even won his belt in spectacular fashion can't even sniff major ratings let alone headline a PPv.. That's why I hope this experiment with free TV is successful, because there should be no reason why boxing champs especially with adonis' style shouldn't be huge stars on par with ufc counterparts..

85,000,000 homes have FS1

110,000,000 homes have CBS

FS1 has 77% of the households that CBS reaches.

1,270,000 vs. 389,000.

Only did 30% of the ratings.

Fastest growing sport did great and Boxing did horrible as usual with the TV execs that post here.

Also, the fight was on CBS in Canada too. First time I was able to see a Canadian boxer on regular TV, or since Bute back in 2007.

Not all champions in the UFC draw big PPV numbers, just take a look at the numbers from last year. UFC like boxing needs the right match ups to do big numbers.

The reason boxing can't get away Monthly PPVs is the fan-base burned out a long time ago getting ****d by greedy promoters. We have almost a century of paying for biggest fights and several decades we've had to pay just to see any boxing.

Look at Arum, there's a reason he isn't doing his crappy Latin Fury's and Pinoy Powers anymore, the people stopped buying. UFC fans are just reaching their first decade but they also aren't buying every crappy PPV like a few years ago.

The same has happened to everyone, the WWE was killing it for awhile then the bottom also dropped out. They have evolved into a more fan friendly option imo.

Haymon also evolved.

If you go back to 2006 almost every year the top rating for the year has been dropping.

6/17/2006 Winky Wright vs Jermain Taylor - 3.5 million live viewers

2014 Chavez vs. Vera did about 1.4 million and that was the highest ratings for the whole year anywhere in the US for Boxing.

If Haymon didn't take this gamble I can only imagine how long before the top rating for the year didn't even break the 1 million mark.
