Ha, as if that'd be on free tv.

      They'd PPV that.

So that's what it's all about? It's not about Boxing fans having an alternative to having to buy premium cable?

For the first time in about 30 years a boxing fan can watch mid to high level boxing for free. You can actually cut your $100 cable and watch some decent fights, sure you're going to miss out on fights but you will still get to see plenty.

Also I'm pretty sure these fights were on PPV in Canada and Australia, that should subsidize some of the money Haymon had to pay.

Just look at what the UFC did Saturday afternoon.

          CBS audience v. FS1 audience.

What did we learn here, stevenson and haymon took all the good will he had and flushed it, the ratings flopped and the arena in quebec was half empty. You cant expect people to buy the **** they are selling, hell they wont even watch it on free tv

lol, you're greatly overestimating any money being brought in from Canada and Australia.

I'll get excited when he tries to make good fights than just a bunch of in house

Bad when Bob does it, good when Haymon does it... okay

So Stevenson now equals Jon Jones and Chris Weidman? Those are probably 2 of the top 5 stars in the UFC.

If Floyd/Pacquiao/Canelo/Cotto/GGG/Kovalev/DGarcia did these ratings then yes I agree they would be bad.

We still don't have the whole numbers to evaluate how well or bad this card did but like the article said "Only 1 other sport did over a 1.0 rating".

I know afternoon ratings are less but damn that's an amazing stat that less people watched a fight on cbs than hbo.

Not good ratings. The problem is Haymon is spending too much on these cards. People keep comparing this to the UFC but the fighters in UFC make nothing all the fighters on one card make a fraction of what they paid Stevenson to fight a mismatch. when you spend this much money to fighters and you are paying the networks to air it you need big time ratings in return to get advertisers to help recoup the costs. The general public doesn't know or care about his fighters and it makes it worse that he hasn't put on competitive fights. What we have so far are expensive mismatches that are losing his investors money.

                      Yep.

The UFC is getting paid by FOX, and what they're paying their fighters is a portion of that.

The PBC is paying out money on both ends, for the TV time and the fighter's purses.

They're presumably losing money on all these fight cards.

If you're going to lose money to build your brand, you'd like to get better results than this.
