Both are credible fights. Why do you favor Geale over Cotto? I can understand Heiland because of his style but Geale?

GGG is already the mandatory challenger. WBC have been promoting that fact for about a year now, even before he won the interim title from Rubio. There is no way they are going back on that decision now. The winner of Cotto's next fight either fights GGG for the title or vacates it. Or he will be stripped.

“Gennady is the interim champion, which Rubio had actually gotten that title because Sergio Martinez had been injured,” explained Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions, to BoxingScene.com. “So with him fighting for that interim title, as soon as the ‘regular’ champion is available – Gennady is the mandatory. That’ll be the winner of Cotto in his next fight.”

As for the time frame, Loeffler said – “It would be the next fight, whoever wins the next fight with Cotto has to fight Gennady in the next title defense.”

You're still in here thinking the WBC has any integrity? They've just showed multiple examples in this thread with the very same title that the WBC changed the rules to allow one fight over the other for more money.

You must be on meth. He has had one fight at 160, against a cripple, so it's impossible to make any statements on how he has carried his power up to the division. I can see Cotto being dominated by everyone at 160 as easily as you claim to see the opposite. Let's wait and see how his first fight against a healthy middleweight fighter goes before making any ridiculous predictions.

I will give one prediction... if Geale hits Cotto with the same punch that GGG ignored before knocking Geale out, Cotto goes down and does not get up.

You smoke to live in a fantasy world, which you're in if you think Cotto can rule the MW division. He did at 140, where he was the biggest fighter he no longer was at 147 or 154. Now as easily the smallest fighter he's going to rule 160? I'm starting to think Geale is the tougher fight now after all.

The fees from Canelo/cotto will be higher than cotto/GGG so they can very easily find a way to change their initial ruling.

Any of those examples come from after the conference last December? Any since Mauricio took over from his father? Do you think that in a period where they are threatened by a possible new title and league coming into being from Haymon that they will act like fools and ignore what they have spent all this time and effort publicizing?

Go back to cheering for Haymon.

Your hate is as bad as his nut hugging. Cotto's never been KO'd by a punch, it's been a stoppage from too much punishment. Geale, doesn't hit particular harder than anyone Cotto has faced. I have a hard time believing Geale has more power than Margarito, Sergio or even Mayorga. The only one to hurt Cotto was Margarito and that was in 2008 under questionable circumstances. Cotto beats a lot of MW's, he loses to GGG and big guys like Murray, anyone the same size as Sergio would lose by decision easily.
