Haymon should let Broner have one of those spinner championship belts like John Cena did to the WWE Championship belt.

I think its sustainable in a USA Tuesday Night Fights or ESPN Friday Night Fights type budget scenario, where show budgets are below 100k.

The problem with big-budget multi-million dollar boxing events being funded by advertisers is that the advertising revenue is not guaranteed. Pretty much every other sport can count on their event lasting a certain amount of time, and can sell commercial spots accordingly. The reality of boxing events (and what seperates boxing from other sports) is that it can be over in the first 3 minutes, which makes advertising dollars speculative at best...........

True, but your missing the point... if they can build the PBC brand in the next 2 years and make it like UFC is to mma, and land a TV deal similar to what ufc gets from fox, then they will have the cash flow to support the paydays..

If they don't land a TV deal like UFC has, then your absolutely correct, and it won't be sustainable long term

oh I agree with you 100% that Haymons long-term play is a deal selling his content to 1 or more networks.

I just have my doubt as to whether or not he can get the ratings up to a high enough number for the networks to want to write a check. Right now the networks are making Al do the heavy lifting, and it will take some SERIOUS consistant ratings to change that mentality.........

Yeah the ratings are gonna be the key..

I think year 1 he will introduce his guys like garcia, adonis, thurman, quillen in decent fights

But by year 2 he probably will need strong ratings and will really make the fights fans want to see..

I think they need to get ghost/thurman 3 mil+ viewers as their bottom range by the time 2 years has lapsed.. If they can average those numbers or higher and show growth over 24 months, I think Haymon will score his deal..

Even if the PBC gets a tv deal, it's questionable whether they could get the kind of money that can sustain some of the purses they're handing out, like the $5 million they paid out for the Thurman-Guerrero card.

The money FOX paid out to the UFC was as much about the UFC's back catalog that dates back to the 90's and the The Ultimate Fighter tv show, two things the PBC doesn't have as of yet.
