This is fanboy logic , yes if your really struggling to make a weight and a year later you must make a pound lower it can KILL you , he went straight to 154 and Manny refused to fight him , same man different weight and Manny said no , as far as a pound goes it can easily be the straw that broke the camels back .

MARK "TOO SHARP" JOHNSON ON MAYWEATHER VS. PACQUIAO:

I looked at Manny Pacquiao and I see that he's done like Roy Jones and Aaron Pryor. All three of them do the same thing. They do everything wrong in boxing, but they were so fast that they get away with it. As time starts slowing down, you see what happened to Aaron Pryor, you see what happened to Roy Jones, and you see what's happening to Pacquiao. I think Floyd is going to be too big, a lot of good defense, and I just don't think Pacquiao is going to be able to deal with it.

So what I had to tell people is this. What about when Pacquiao fought Cotto? What about when Pacquiao fought De La Hoya? He looked way better than when Floyd fought those two guys? I had to break it down to them that Pacquiao fought those guys at 147, a weight class that killed Cotto to make and a weight class that Oscar De La Hoya hadn't made in 10 years. So if you don't know boxing, they pulled the wool over your eyes with a name. You think it's a good fight because of the name. Floyd fought those guys at 154 pounds, their best weight. Floyd fought Cotto and Oscar at 154, their best weight. They didn't have to lose weight, they didn't have to kill themselves. So I like Floyd in the fight by decision. I don't think it's going to be a stoppage.

Cotto and PAC fight nothing alike and Cotto bigger, stronger, and has a great jab...roach would do better watching Mayweather fights against southpaws to come up with a plan.

Asking guys for advice who barely won rounds against may and fight nothing like PAC won't help

Roach is gonna have to do his own homework is my point

Also roach thinks his legs are shot...shouldn't be hard to game plan for shot to **** money...roach has no answer for Mayweather ability to fight at every range effectively.

I always think Roach, Arum and Manny pulled the wools over a lot of people eyes. Arum even said Pacquiao is celebrated because he is pure entertainment and Mosley wasn't supposed to win. Pacquiao is a good fighter but he was/is their bread and butter and they did what they had to do to market and promote a guy with a whole country on his side. Roach looked for every condition in his favor for Manny's fights at 147. No matter how his fans try to spin it, Manny is not on Mayweather's level and May 2nd will prove this. I had a dream Mayweather stopped Manny in the 10th round and was ahead 6 rounds to 4 (he was already winning the 10th round before he stopped Manny). Manny gets hit a lot by right hands and I just don't see Manny being able to adjust on the fly like Mayweather will do. Not to mention Floyd is the bigger more skillful guy and won't be standing there letting Manny beat up on him like past opponents. Mayweather is going to dominate Pacquiao.

That's what I mean...... Roach has no clue how to approach the fight with Mayweather. It's obvious to me that he is just hoping and wishing Mayweather is slacking and getting old because that is all he talks about.

With Floyd weak mind I fear he might be on deep depression worst than Ricky Hatton, especially he keep saying he's TBE.
You need understand the stock he puts in this fight. This not about only money. The prize is much greater. Freddie said himself he hates the Mayweather's, and they brag on how they used to beat up on him. He said himself that this is the biggest of his career and this is personal.

Yep, I remember that negotiation was a real pig.

But I dont get your point about " that was Bobs idea ".

Bob is a member of Team Pacquiao, and Mannys official representative.

I remember Cotto going around showing off his 6 pack telling reporters that he was in by far the best shape of his career for that fight and how he had never felt better. He looked like a beast for that fight, he didn't really look "drained" to me.

just like Roach waited for Mosley to be less dangerous....Mosley even considered fighting at 142 for the fight in 08-09...said mosley was too dangerous....Roach waits until a guy with a big name shows vulnerability then he lets his charge face them
Fought Cotto after he getting a career beating and didn't look impressive....

fought Margarito after Mosley kicked his butt

smoked Hatton after Floyd did it already

David Diaz was the lowest ranked and worst titlist of that time when JMM, Casamayor, Nate Campbell and Juan Diaz were around.

fought DLH at 147 after not looking impressive in a long time

                  Rios after a loss

Algieri didn't belong in the ring with a legit top ten welter

Manny is a great, great fighter and a lot of what he has done above 130 is all smoke and mirrors....when he actually faced elite guys near top form, he struggled.....Bradley and JMM....everyone else he fought was barely 2 fights removed from getting bad losses

Cotto rejected to rematch pac because Bob offer him the same amount he got the first time and the fight will now be at 147. Cotto decline. There was no tension in negotiation between cotto and manny like someone has suggested.
